Thredbo is famous for the legendary Thredbo Downhill. In summer Thredbo's long ski runs get transformed into downhill heaven. The downhill runs are accessed by the Kosciusko Chairlift every day from November to May. Qualified instructors offer group and individual lessons & clinics catering for total beginners to race ready and everything in between. The Thredbo Downhill is something you need to ride to believe it. Throw in the fact that this summer it gets a full upgrade and section changes and is open every day. Chairlift tickets are sold separately or as part of lessons & clinics. 

 

Initiation & Lift Tickets

To ride the Thredbo Downhill course you must complete a compulsory run with one of our qualified instructors. You’ll learn about using the chairlift, trail access and technical skills for riding downhill safely. This usually takes about 1 hour.  Afterwards you can upgrade to further group instruction, a private lesson or just free-ride by yourself.

 

Once you have completed an initiation session, a day ticket gives you unlimited rides up the chairlift during the morning and afternoon sessions. So if you have all of your own gear and you have ridden the Thredbo downhill track before then this is the ticket for you.

Full Face helmets are a mandatory requirement for all riders using the chairlift.

Riders who have ridden the Thredbo Downhill with the previous operators do not need to complete the initiation again. We will have your details on our database.

Multi- day tickets are for consecutive days only. The Works prices quoted are for a KONA Stab Deluxe bike.

Requirements: Full face helmet, comfortable clothing, sunscreen, drinks & a reasonable fitness level. You must be able to lift your bike to chest height for when you are riding the chairlift.

Group Clinics

Group clinics are designed to improve your skills and more specifically designed to suit your needs. South East Mountain Biking Company places a strong emphasis on improving all levels of riding ability. Lessons are available for downhill, cross country and mountain cross. We can cater for total beginners to experienced racers and everything in between.

If you would like our qualified instructors to come to your school or camp wherever it maybe located, that too is an option. We will turn up with bikes, helmets, instructors and a carefully designed program aimed to fulfill your required outcomes.
